Meet Karelina Muguercia, M.D.
Dr Muguercia graduated as a Medical Doctor in 1986 at the Superior Institute of Medical Sciences in Santiago de Cuba, Cuba. She started her residency program of General Surgery at Provincial Hospital "Saturnino Lora" in Santiago where she worked as a General Surgeon for 13 years. In 1999 she moved to the United States where after taking many steps forward she reached her goal of becoming a physician in the US. While waiting for her residency program she worked at Jackson Memorial Hospital in the Liver and Intestine transplant department for 2 years. In 2005 she enrolled in the Family Medicine residency program at Florida South Orlando Hospital for 3 years finishing in 2008.
With more than 20 years of experience in the medical field she has provided multiple services: as a professor of the Medical school in Cuba, as a researcher in Thoracic and Thyroid surgery in Santiago de Cuba , as a General and Thoracic surgeon and lately as a Family physician taking care of patients through diverse methods.
